COVID-19 Protocols

Overview

We are excited to welcome you back in person to the Georgia ASYD Conference. The health and safety of all attendees at the ASYD Conference is a top priority.

We plan on delivering the same quality of active, hands-on sessions as previous conferences, with the added confidence of mitigation measures to ensure your safe return to your family, community, and the students in your programs and schools.

As the conference nears, we will be monitoring the state and local trends to determine how measures may need to be changed as well as government mandates, policy changes, and public health advancements that may impact our protocols.

COVID Safety Protocols

An on-site negative rapid antigen COVID-19 test prior to check in at the conference registration desk is required to attend. As such, ASYD has contracted with a reputable COVID testing company to administer rapid antigen tests at the Classic Center prior to each individual’s entry into the registration area.

Individuals are required to wear a mask until the results have processed and must have a negative result in order to enter the conference registration area and attend the conference.

Face Coverings

All attendees, exhibitors, volunteer and staff are strongly encouraged to properly wear a well-fitting mask indoors except when eating or drinking in designated areas. Presenters and speakers are strongly encouraged to wear masks or face shields while presenting unless a six-foot distance will be maintained.

ASYD will provide each individual with two masks in the conference bag and additional masks can be obtained at the registration desk throughout the conference.

Should the city of Athens, Clarke County, the state of Georgia or the nation be under mask mandates of any sort, the ASYD Conference will ask participants to comply with those mandates during the duration of their conference attendance.

Hand Sanitizer Stations

The Classic Center will have hand sanitizing stations easily accessible to everyone throughout the event. ASYD Conference Staff will ensure that hand sanitizer is available in multiple conference areas and a mini-hand sanitizer will be given to each individual in the conference bag.

Social Distancing

Rooms will be set with fewer chairs, including fewer chairs per table. Room capacity limits will be carefully maintained in order to accommodate more space between individuals. Conference participants are asked to respect capacity limits.

Health and Safety Signage

Signage will be placed to remind all attendees to mask, social distance and frequently wash and sanitize their hands.

Screening

All attendees, exhibitors, speakers, volunteers and staff will be reminded via the conference app each morning to monitor themselves for symptoms and only attend the conference if they are feeling well.

All registrants who experience symptoms associated with COVID-19 while attending the Georgia ASYD Conference should immediately discontinue their participation in the conference and are encouraged to seek medical care. The ASYD Conference will have a Health Manager available to provide rapid tests and assist with medical questions or concerns should they arise.
