Join Us for Youth Mental Health First Aid!
GUIDE will offer Youth Mental Health First Aid courses in Gwinnett from July 8 - 11, 2025!
The trainings will be held from 8 am - 5 pm each day. Participants should only register for one day.
**GCPS employees who register and complete all course requirements will receive a $150 stipend.**
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. Prior to the course, participants will receive instructions for completing a brief pre-test online.
Trainings will be held at two different locations, so registrants should pay attention to the location selected!
July 8 and 9: Loganville First UMC, 221 Main Street, Loganville, GA 30052
July 10 and 11: 750 South Perry St, Suite 231, Lawrenceville, GA 30046
Lunch is not provided, but there will be a 1-hour break. As an additional option, our facilitators will offer a FREE 30-minute lunch and learn session where participants will be taught how to administer Naloxone (Narcan), a medication to rapidly reverse opioid overdoses. Each participant will receive a free Narcan kit at the end of the training.
The deadline to register is Monday, June 30 at 5 pm.
